Gavin & Sally (Outcast Dance Studio)
Gavin Chan started off as a jazz trained dancer and has been dancing and performing since the age of 9.
He has earned international recognition for his work in Salsa and has trained in Sydney, UK and New York. His mentors include Eddie Torres, Frankie Martinez, Thomas Guerrerro, Juan Matos, Jazzy "Soulfire" J, Fabel, Mr. Wiggles, Djoniba Moufle, Brian "Footwork" Green, Spex, Shannon "Which Way" Sha, Ejoe Wilson.
Gavin has performed and taught in numerous international events and congresses all over the world, as well as adjudicated in several international salsa competitions. His unique dance style has earned him a place with Fogarate Dance Project in New York, and he has even represented Australia at the Los Angeles Salsa Congress with the reigning World Salsa Champion, Oliver Pineda.
Currently, Gavin performs with his dance partner, Sally Oh, and also with his dance troupe, OutCast Dance Movement.
Sally is a trained and qualified (Professional Associate NATD, UK) professional instructor in Latin American dancing and has been in this profession for the last 10 years and represented Malaysia in Ballroom Dancing Competitions.
As a Salsa dancer, Sally has performed, competed and trained internationally to further her skills and exposure. While partnering Gavin, Sally placed 2nd runner-up in the 2008 Asian Open Salsa Championships in Hong Kong. Together with Gavin, they make an outstanding dance couple with energetic routines and breath taking acrobatic stunts.
Sally's passion and flare for dance is apparent to anyone who has seen her dance. She is known for her high-speed spins and her sharp, elegant and feminine styling. Her infectous smile and winsome personality has made her a favourite of students and she delights in passing on her love for dance to others.
